Today the Rally finished at Moussafir Camping in Dhakla, the last sizable town in Southern Morocco. Todays stage was the fastest so far. Bike number 244 from Alimax Racing was the fastest, reaching an average speed off 115km/h. The fastest car was Team Glad.dk in their Bowler Wildcat, only a few minutes behind.
The English bike team in the Adventure Category - Team Mong Dakar 1-5 have done really well and are enjoying themselves despite several small crashes and mishaps. They are taking it easy, enjoying the experience, and learning a lot about driving their bikes through desert lands.
The weather down here is showing its teeth, the wind has really picked up and sand is blowing everywhere, making maintenance and repairs difficult. Tomorrows stage is pure liaison crossing the border to Mauritania, clearing customs a.s.o. Most off the rally participants are looking forward to a day without racing, it will give them a chance to regain energy for the sandy stages awaiting in Mauritania. Next update will be from Boulanouar, Mauritania.
